A married couple has been providing free disinfection services in Tanjung Malim, Perak, to help keep Covid-19 at bay.

Businessman Lim Chee Wah, 45, and his wife Chep Lee Aili, 44, have disinfected countless high-risk locations in the district since the Covid-19 pandemic started in 2020.

“I am active in social work and community programmes, so I’m glad to render our services free of charge,” he said when contacted.

“We just want to contribute in some way to fight Covid-19 and to protect the community.

Lim said when he first started, he wanted to keep a low profile but his identity was revealed when he removed his personal protective suit after the first job.

“From then on, news spread and everyone in town knew what I was doing.”

Lim said he and his wife have helped sanitise and disinfect various premises, including government offices, wet markets, banks, houses of worship, schools and homes.

“I own a poultry farm, so I have the necessary equipment for sanitisation.

“My wife and I usually schedule a suitable date and time each time our services are needed at a premises,” said Lim, who is the SJK (C) Chung Sin Parent-Teacher Association chairman.

“If I happen to be outstation, then we have to turn down the request,” he said.

He uses the thermal fogging method of sanitisation.

“It is a good way to disinfect offices as the chemical compound used does not damage paper documents or files.

“We will continue to render our services whenever we are needed,” said Lim, a father of three.
