Parks Department Employee Tests Positive For Coronavirus | Orland Park, IL Patch

ORLAND PARK, IL – An Orland Park Recreation & Parks employee has tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, according to a letter sent to department employees on Saturday.

An employee in the Athletics Department recently tested positive for the virus, according to a letter signed by Recreation and Parks Director Ray Piattoni sent to employees who work in the same area as the employee.

Piattoni said the department is cleaning identified work areas and equipment at Centennial Park. In addition, a vendor has been contracted to perform fogger sanitation of certain areas of the facility that have been impacted.

"We continue to encourage sick employees to stay home, practice social distancing, promote hand washing for 20 seconds or use of hand sanitizer, proper sneezing or cough etiquette, avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth, and disinfecting of common surfaces," he wrote in the letter.

The department said it planned to contact employees who had been in contact with sick employee.

This announcement comes two days after officials announced that a Village Hall employee had tested positive for COVID-19.
