Dees, a longtime South Carolina Pest Control Association member, founded Piedmont Pest Control in 1982 and has been passionate about industry owner-operators supporting one another.

LAURENS, S.C. – Dan Dees, former Piedmont Pest Control founder and owner, was inducted into the South Carolina Pest Control Association Hall of Fame. Nominated by David Nelson, Laurens, S.C. Northwest Exterminating service center manager, Dan accepted the induction with praise and appreciation from many.

“Dan took the time to pour into his team and community as much as he took the time to truly grow his business the right way – delivering great customer service and respecting his community,” said Nelson. “It’s an honor to know and have the opportunity to work alongside him. Just like in my speech, all I can say is a big thank you. We have all benefited from Dan greatly, and he deserves this recognition.”

Dees started Piedmont Pest Control in 1982 and successfully grew the company while caring for his team, customers, and community first. He was passionate about industry owner-operators supporting one another and sharing knowledge, knowing it would benefit all and make the industry even greater. A member of the SCPCA for years, Dan served as president from 1989-1999.  Ready to focus on family and retirement, he chose Northwest Exterminating to continue growing his business in the Laurens community and beyond, merging with the company in 2017.

The Northwest Exterminating team said it is honored to know Dees and to see him receive induction. His impact on the South Carolina pest control industry “cannot be understated.” His overall passion, willingness to be open, sharing of best practices, and care for others are things many have benefited from.
