Mark Christensen, 51, of 504 W. Golf RdMount Prospect, was charged July 22 with driving under the influence of alcohol. According to police, officers at 1 a.m. were on patrol in the area of 200 Elmhurst Rd. when they observed a red Ford truck driving without headlights. Officers conducted a traffic stop and during questioning, the report said police detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath, and his eyes appeared to be bloodshot and glassy along with slurred speech. He reportedly failed standardized field sobriety tests and recorded a blood alcohol content of 0.09. He was charged a short time later and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Christrian Vasquez-Hernandez, 30, of 2081 Pine St., Des Plaines, was charged July 18 with driving under the influence of alcohol. According to police, officers at 11:42 p.m. were on patrol near Elmhurst Road and Dempster Street when they observed a red Scion traveling 48 mph in a 35 mph zone. Officers conducted a traffic stop and during questioning, the report said officers detected the odor of an alcoholic based beverage emanating from his breath, his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, and he had slurred speech. The report also said police observed empty bottles of beer behind the driver’s seat. He reportedly failed standardized field sobriety tests and recorded a blood alcohol content of 0.174. He was charged a short time later and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Adrian Wheeler, 24, of 247 Dover Dr., Des Plaines, was charged July 18 with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. According to police, officers at 2 a.m. were on patrol in the area of Elmhurst Road and Oakton Street when they observed a blue Toyota traveling 66 mph in a 35 mph zone. Officers conducted a traffic stop and during questioning, the report said police observed his eyes to be bloodshot and watery and they also smelled the odor of an alcoholic based beverage emanating from his breath. He reportedly failed standardized field sobriety tests and recorded a blood alcohol content of 0.114. He was charged a short time later and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Veronica Condemarin Bernal, 42, of 1848 N. Goodwin Dr., Palatine, was charged July 27 with no valid license and improper lane usage. According to police, officers at approximately 12:55 a.m. were on patrol near Rand and Elmhurst roads when they observed a red Hyundai in the median lane cross over the white center dashed line markings with both passenger side tires on two occasions. Officers conducted a traffic stop and during questioning, she reportedly told police she has lived in Illinois for approximately a year and never attempted to obtain a license. She was charged a short time later and the vehicle was left legally parked in a nearby parking lot.

Antonio Perez, 24, of 10405 S. Ave., Chicago, was charged July 24 with driving on a suspended license and operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for noninsurance. According to police, officers at approximately 9:23 a.m. were on patrol near Main Street and Central Road when they checked the license plate on a 2008 silver Lexus SUV, which was suspended. Officers conducted a traffic stop and he was charged a short time later. 

Rigoberto Cortez, 62, of 1944 Everett Ave., Des Plaines, was charged July 23 with driving on a revoked license and speeding. According to police, officers at approximately 11:43 p.m. observed a black 2006 Toyota traveling 50 mph in a 35 mph zone near Elmhurst Road and Huntington Commons Road. Officers conducted a traffic stop and he was charged a short time later.

Demyjah Gibert, 20, of 1005 W. Cottonwood Ln., Mount Prospect, was charged July 23 with driving on a suspended license and speeding. According to police, officers at 6:50 p.m. were on patrol near Golf Road and William Street when they observed a gray Nissan traveling 57 mph in a 40 mph zone. Officers conducted a traffic stop and during questioning, she told police her license was suspended. She was charged a short time later.

Angel Dejesus, 32, of 1809 Harvey Ave., Berwyn, was charged July 20 with driving while license suspended and expired registration. According to police, officers at approximately 7:37 p.m. were near Ida Court and Dempster Street when they observed a black BMW sedan ahead with its rear license plate sticker missing. A check of the plate reportedly showed the registration was expired as of March 2022. Officers conducted a traffic stop and during questioning, he reportedly told police he did not have a valid license. He was charged a short time later.

Carlos Lopez, 42, of 611 Hampshire Dr., Hampshire, was charged July 20 with driving on a revoked license and speeding. According to police, officers at 6:24 p.m. were near the 1300 block of S. Elmhurst Road when they observed a Dodge Journey traveling 47 mph in a 35 mph zone. Officers conducted a traffic stop and he was charged a short time later.

Christopher Smith, 47, of 22 W. Algonquin Rd., Arlington Heights, was charged July 19 with driving while license suspended and improper lane usage. According to police, officers at 11:47 p.m. were in the area of Algonquin Road and Briarwood Drive when they observed a black Ford’s driver’s side tires drive over the fog line then rapidly correct back before swerving within the lanes. Officers conducted a traffic stop and he was charged a short time later. 

Kamleshkumar Patel, 61, of 9366 Twin Oaks Ln., Des Plaines, was charged July 20 with speeding. According to police, officers at approximately 3:50 p.m. were conducting traffic enforcement in the 500 block of E. Northwest Highway when they observed a silver 2002 Toyota traveling 60 mph in a 30 mph zone. Officers conducted a traffic stop and he was issued a citation a short time later.

Alexander Zimnoch, 20, of 1018 N. Lincoln Ave., Park Ridge, was charged July 19 with speeding. According to police, officers at 9:42 p.m. were conducting patrol on Wolf Road when they observed a white sedan traveling 81 mph in a 40 mph zone near Central Road. Officers conducted a traffic stop and he was cited a short time later.

Police at 1:33 p.m. July 19 responded to Jameson’s Charhouse, 1702 W. Algonquin Rd., for a suspicious incident report. Police were told that a customer at 1:25 p.m. stated there was a suspicious note in a bathroom stall that talked about multiple shots fired from a weapon that sounded like a machine gun between 8:50 and 9:02 p.m. July 15 in Chicago, and for that message to be forwarded to the manager. 

Police at 6:55 a.m. July 19, responded to Willow and Lavergne for a suspicious incident with several car doors and trunks opened. Police received video footage that showed an unknown man walking eastbound on Willow toward a Jeep Wrangler entering the vehicle at 2:09 a.m. and searching through the vehicle before walking away. Police were unable to locate the individual.

Police at 6:31 p.m. July 25 responded to 1522 River West Ct. for a catalytic converter theft. A man told police that at approximately 2:50 p.m. July 20, he walked to his vehicle parked in the lot and when he started the car, he heard a loud noise coming from underneath. He took the vehicle to a mechanic and was advised the catalytic converter had been cut off and two sensors were missing. 

Police at 3:21 p.m. July 22 were dispatched to a theft report at 1220 S. Elmhurst Rd. A woman told police her son’s black Hyper bicycle had been stolen. She said that at approximately 7 p.m. July 21, her son placed the unsecured bike, valued at approximately $200, in the east courtyard of the apartment complex and when he returned at approximately 1:15 p.m. July 22, the bike was gone.

Police at 7:48 a.m. July 20 responded to 2420 E. Oakton St. for a catalytic converter theft. The manager told police that a box truck was parked at 5 p.m. the night before and at 7:15 a.m. that morning, he saw two catalytic converters totaling $4,600, missing. He added this was the second occurrence in a month where catalytic converters were stolen on the same vehicle.
