New ‘COV-RID’ thermal fogging equipment to set new industry standard for safety | Rail News

Network Rail has introduced a new innovative 'COV-RID' thermal product to keep its workers safe, as the UK goes through its roadmap out of lockdown.

Collaborating with  Suttle Projects a company which is specialised  in providing  sustainability and health and safety compliance, are implementing the innovative system on the Network Rail sites.

Suttles are not only sanitising their workspaces, but also ensuring their staff feel their workspaces are clean. Most importantly, they are removing hazardous and toxic substanced hazardous cleaning materials/hand sanitiser.

COVID-19 has put unprecedented demand on individuals, business, and society to clean and disinfect more regularly and thoroughly.

Network Rail/Suttles have partnered with Knights Security Group to implement new practices and standards in the cleaning process, fostering innovation and changing the way they think about cleaning; ultimately, making the process simpler, quicker, and safer.

The innovation is underpinned by Knights Security Group’s unique high-level disinfectant called COV-RID that is EN14476 tested and proven to remove Coronaviruses. Derived from plant oils, the COV-RID High-Level Disinfectant was specifically developed to be non-toxic and non-hazardous while still removing 99.99% of viruses and 99.999% of bacteria.

Implementing a fast, efficient, and effective system, using Knights Security Group’s non-hazardous and non-toxic COV-RID products, means they haven’t had a single case of COVID-19 among their workers.

Network Rail and Suttles believe they have now set a precedent for the ‘Suttle Standard’ of worker protection, argue they have completely reset industry expectations of standards and that, it should be implemented moving forward by using PPE to bolster levels of protection in an already clean environment, rather than asking their workers to enter a dirty and potentially dangerous workspace.

TransCityRail is a series of regional, interactive and insightful events across the country bringing together leaders, collaborators, problem solvers and innovators in a creative and invigorating way.

This series of events supports and informs the whole of the rail industry and connects suppliers with buyers, specifiers, leaders and decision-makers looking to procure a wide variety of innovative products and services for their region.

Maria Machancoses, Director of Midlands Connect discusses the importance of HS2 to the Midlands and the UK, their collaborative work with the Department for Transport, and how we need to embrace the railways again.

In today’s world of railways, Ethernet switches are in common use there uses include track to train networks, train control & monitoring systems, digital displays, passenger information systems, CCTV systems, PA systems, & passenger WI-FI systems, these systems are becoming an inbuilt part of the modern train.

As a rail sector, we ultimately exist to serve two principal users: passengers and freight. Ensuring their journeys are smooth and efficient is essential to industry success, and between the pair, it is passengers who demand the most on-site information to be available. After all, between a person and a parcel, it is the former which is more likely to be vocal when things go wrong.
